I have been painting in oils since high school and switched to acrylics in the late 1990’s for their quick drying capability and wide range of use. My subject matter includes landscapes, pet portraits, people portraits, parades and costumed festivals, gardens, mountains, harbors, oceans, beaches, water, boats, houses, buildings, rivers, cliffs, canyons and cliff dwellings, historical scenes, still life, animals, fields and flowers.
My style tends to be representational realism with a hint of expressionism in some cases as you can see from the samples below. I have chosen the frames for most of my paintings in order to enhance their color, design, shape, form, balance, texture, and subject matter as well as time frame and context to produce the best effect; but I will leave most commissioned paintings unframed unless asked to do otherwise.
The prices I would charge to do a commissioned painting would vary according to the complexity of the subject matter, the size of the canvas, the cost of the materials involved, and the labor hours needed to complete the project. Shipping and handling through Fed EX or UPS would be extra. Any questions, please contact me at the link listed above.
