My pursuit of accounting as a profession began in the 1980’s, as the result of having a family to support. Considering that I have always been good at math, it seemed a responsible decision and accounting positions have been the mainstay of my income for the last few decades.
During that time, I have accumulated extensive experience in all phases of accounting in the manufacturing, retail, wholesale, construction, communications, high tech, non-profit, legal, transportation, architectural insurance, education, government, restaurant management, trust, grocery, graphics, aerospace, and, most recently, in the public financial environments.
Because I have worked for varied companies, I have also accumulated broad experience on a multitude of computer software systems including Quick Books Pro, Quick Books Contractor, Quick Books Manufacturing, and Quick Books Enterprise as well as MAS 90, Creative Solutions, Sage Business Works, AS400, CDM, JD Edwards, and Xerox to name a few. I also am proficient with Pay Pal, E-Bay and online banking.
I have developed an exceptional ability at forensic accounting on all versions of Quick Books and have worked on large projects spanning year periods for CPA firms in preparation for financial statement generation, tax processing and filing. I have excellent verbal and written skills combined with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work both independently or as a team.
I also have the proven ability to learn new procedures, processes and accounting software systems with the capacity to relate to people well no matter what their position or status. My specific accounting skills include full cycle accounts receivable and collections; full cycle accounts payable and check generation; payroll and payroll tax submission; general ledger and subsidiary account reconciliation; journal entries for reconciliations as well as year end closings; bank and credit card reconciliations; online banking and online tax remissions; and financial statements compilation.
Some of my other skills include sales expense vouchers; direct job costing for construction; indirect job costing for manufacturing; customer and vendor lists; maintenance of the chart of accounts; fund accounting for city governments and school districts; managing a living trust liquidation; inter and intra company accounting for national and international companies; and multi-state sales tax remissions.

My independent contractor fees start at $25 an hour and I would consider working either on a freelance basis or as an employee for part time, full time, or project work.
